Just curious as to why my site may not be ranking at all on MSN. Even if I search by my domain name it dosen't come up. I submitted my site to MSN about a month ago (90% sure anyways, I may have forgotten or done it wrong), and I definitely submitted my sitemap to them. I am ranking decent with my target words on Google (page 2 on average, page 1 on a good day) and ranking excellent on Yahoo. Should I submit my site to MSN again or is there something else I should check? Thanks
Yeah I have quite a few. According to submit express I have over 1200. I don't know where they all come from, I certainly didn't create that many on blogs/forums.
MSN has web master tools section. You may want to get there and submit your sitemap for better results
MSN is very slow. It ran 3-5 months behind the others when I last launched a site. I've heard it hasn't changed much.
I used an affiliate tool to get top rankings in MSN. It works but the process was slow. And it is MSN that is slow not the tool. I would say 6-12 weeks is needed from what I have seen.
I found the same thing - I rank page #1 Google for some decent terms, and have been there for quite a few months. But still nothing in MSN until today! I have done nothing different, it must have just chosen to index my website. Only thing I can recommend is finding backlinks that rank well in MSN so that you know it will be indexed quicker.
Wow, that is crazy! I am surprised that Microsoft takes that long to crawl the pages. Even the smaller search engines have indexed me. Thanks for the advise.
MSN Webmaster Tools is great. They tell you quite clearly if your site is 'Blocked' (penalty box) or not. I like how they show 1-4 bar ranking indicators for your site - as well as your backlinks <-- this is very interesting as it clearly shows which sites MSN values as having authority, and not. If you run multiple sites, it's fairly easy to discern where your link-building efforts are worth redoubling. Some may think their Webmaster Tools simplistic, but I see them as very straight-forward and fair: Build a well-crafted site, know your keywords, optimize using the most basic principles of SEO -- and MSN will put your site fairly where it belongs.
MSN normally index site very slow, it might take up to half year. Better keep on build link and focus on the content
I never found handsome traffic on very much competitive keywords through MSN, Just try to make your rankings better and better in Google.
On the same topic, I don't seem to have any links to my site on MSN. It is a year and a half old. Does MSN not like Blogger?
You will soon be listed on MSN, we all experienced the same thing at first. But I will advice you keep submitting to MSN.
