Hey all, Ok so ive been out of the webmaster game for a good one plus year or so.. ive starting some new projects and was just checking on traffic stats using google analytics and to my surprise my main keyword / result for organic traffic is "not provided" now i noticed this yesterday and figured id placed my tracking code in the wrong place.. but after double checking it's in fine... Anyone got an idea what's going on ?? Is google cloaking this on purpose ?? Is this something that can be fixed without resorting to 3rd party traffic tracking ?? am i going crazy ?? Thanks in advanced for any help on this matter. Regards, Darren
Cheers matey was at a complete lose to why this was showing, or if anyone else was receiving this.. Do you think this will be fixed with future updates ? or is there a work around for this ?
There isn't a work around that I am aware of. I don't really see it as much of an issue though. G users make up a small percentage of total website visitors. You can still see all the long tail keywords your site is being discovered for, and write new content based on that etc.
Yes true true, Thanks again. I might of jumped the gun a little without looking into it further, but wow i did think i had lost my touch a little lol, as i said been a while since working online and as ive started 2 new projects i expected to see some keywords / organic searches showing, but i guess the results showing are me logged in / testing my sitemaps / indexed url's / keywords. Thanks again, should be interesting to gauge as i start gaining organic / real traffic lol.
Yeah it can be disheartening when you see your core keywords experience what appears to be a drop in rankings as a result of this change when nothing has really changed at all. At the end of the day though, what matters most is your overall traffic.
