I ordered .com domain name yesterday for $5.99

Today get credit card statement from the bank. And see...that they charged me twice (2*$5.99), more over some $1 paypal fee applied ?!!! WTF ? If there is that fee what the point to buy from them ? It's called "Cash advance using benefits card" on statement.

Moreover they called operation HIGH FRAUD and blocked money they charge, so who is fraud here ?

Any chance I will get my $5.99 back ? I ordered only 1 domain, not 2. As well as stupid $1 fee.

That is why I always use Namecheap! They are easy to deal with, I have all my domains there and you can pay by credit card or paypal. I have never had a bit of problems with them and whois protectionis free the first year and only $2.98 after that.

Well, they replied already and it seems that twice charging is for authorization. They say they billed only once and get me to invoice. Will check tommorow my card at ATM and let you all know.

Are you sure you are reading your reports correctly? My paypal has two entries for each name.com transaction but one entry is for authorization, one entry is for payment, the payment is only deducted once from my account.

Personally, I haven't had any problems with them overcharging me. I will make sure I look very closely at my next c/c statement to make 100% sure everything is fine.

Why are you being charged any Paypal fees? I'm confused by this. Are you paying Name.com via Paypal? If so, why not just pay directly via c/c?

"Are you sure you are reading your reports correctly? My paypal has two entries for each name.com transaction but one entry is for authorization, one entry is for payment, the payment is only deducted once from my account."

Well, Name.com replied and said the same. My bank reports not show it's for payment or for authorization. It seems all for payment, that's why I was confused by charging 2 times

"Why are you being charged any Paypal fees? I'm confused by this. Are you paying Name.com via Paypal? If so, why not just pay directly via c/c?"

No, I payed with CC directly. I am from Ukraine and anyway can only pay with PP, but will not use it much, really don't like it.

But as some people said PP charge $1 also to authorize the card, which is still big surprise for me cause they already charge $1.95 for that. Very stupid, imho

Yes, Name.com does the authorization charge but it would be reversed in due time. There is nothing to worry about. Name.com uses some different aspect of the Paypal IPN so it seems to work in a different way from most others.

My domain is registered at Name.com, I've haven't had any billing problems with them, though, and I use Paypal as well. But I did send an email regarding GoogleApps. They replied with acceptable time, but the answer was a bit crappy. =P

I would wait until tomorrow and check. Sounds like they only billed you once.
