Try to submit the page on stumbleupon.com to get index in less than 24 hours.

Are all pages linked from the homepage? OR at least 1 click away from the homepage? Static sitemaps perhaps? You can also try submitting to Digg.com if you want to get it indexed.

How many internal pages do you have? It can take some time for Google to crawl your site. You can also increase the speed after some time.

In addition check Webmaster Tool for any crawl errors for those pages. More internal links to those pages maybe? It could take a month or so before the pages are indexed too.

Submitting a sitemap.xml file to Google has absolutely no affect on the number of pages they will index UNLESS your site has obstacles that prevent crawlers from discovering your URLs naturally. Sitemap.xml files do not generally increase the number of pages indexed nor do they increase the RATE at which the search engines crawl your site.

Sitemap.xml files are good for 3 things:

    1) Getting a site with ZERO inbound links indexed initially.
    2) Helping sites get URLs indexed that have obstacles preventing crawlers from finding those pages naturally, and
    3) For sites with hundreds of thousands or millions of pages, to prioritize which pages the search engines should index first... second... third... etc using the <priority> element in the sitemap.xml

Other than those situations, sitemap.xmls are pretty much useless.

If your inner pages are not getting indexed then it is probably because they are lacking followed links from external URLs where those external URLs are ALSO indexed.

Build FOLLOWed backlinks from pages that are indexed on other sites. Your inner pages will then likely get indexed.
