I recently installed the +1 button on my website.. but it made it slower. way slower. it loads the page twice for some reason. Deleted it now.

My advice: don't use it if you don't want a slow loading website.

    Doesn't slow down my website.
Maybe you did something wrong or there's something interfering with the button?

Don't know what could be causing that honestly. I would imagine it had something to do with your implementation though because a bug that large would have been noticed by now on other sites.

Try and add it again in a different position I think it will work.

It shouldn't slow down page loading at all.

Thats very strange. I have the button on my website and it hasn't slowed at all. What platform are you using? I placed it on my Joomla! site and it had no slow effect.

I have seen it on a number of websites, and I don't see any difference on the loading of the pages websites.
