Not Getting Hits

hi to all,

I have targetted 1 keyword which has traffic in google adwords "165,000 (Global Monthly Searches)". On these keyword rank is 8 on google.com . but i am getting only 1-2 hits per day on these keyword. What's reason behind this.

 

Please share that keyword with us... Because one keyword is too less to target the whole website.

 

keyword is "free online casino". My query is that if i am getting competitive keyword on top 10. So , why i am not getting so much hits.

 

Where does your site appear on Google? On the first page?

 

Global monthly searches do not translate into clicks. A lot of searches produce no click throughs. Also keep in mind that the global search numbers take into account searches on google's partner sites too.

With a number 8 ranking in serps you wouldn't be getting more than 2-3% of click throughs.

Those are the reasons why you get 1 to 2 hits a day.

 

If i want to increase CTR, what i do further. How can i measure that keyword is getting more clicks than any other keyword. i need that keyword which convert more Global monthly searches into clicks

 

Increase your SERPs rankings. And/or try to make your listings more relevant to the search query.

You should do proper keyword research, as well as researching your competition (so you know how hard or how easy it will be for you to rank higher).

It could be of many possible things and global monthly searches is nothing more but a mere estimate.

It might be that;

Your website sucks.
Your website isn't informative enough.
Your website takes too much time to load causing your visitors to leave.
Your keywords are too competitive.
etc..

Don't forget that just because you're in the first page of Google means that you're guaranteed with traffic. There is still the difference when it comes to the position you are in. In theory, Google Position 1 has a 90% CTR , Google Position 2 has CTR of 60% and Google Position 3 has a 40% CTR. What do you think would be the Click-Through-Rate for websites in Position 8? Also, you'd best remember that you only have 1 keyword on position 8, ever thought of having more than 1 keyword on the first page of Google?

 

traffic break down like this even if you are on the front page..1st spot get 88% and 2nd get 65% 3rd get 45%...so if you continue down..then you are left with little traffic..you must do seo to get yourself higher.
