The actor who voices Mr Burns, Flanders, Mr Smithers and some others in The Simpsons has quit the show: http://news.sky.com/story/1483773/harry-shearer-voice-of-mr-burns-quits-simpsons Is anyone else sad about this as I am? Not eeeeeexcellent....
I suspect that the producers will be able to find someone who can mimic the expected voice quite well. There is a lot of voice talent out there. I remember when Fred Flintstone's voice slightly changed because of what I assumed at the time was a change in voice performer. After a couple of shows, however, I did not notice that it was a new voice any more. The new voice took over.
Nooooooooooo..........................! I've been a fan of the show for many, many years. I can't imagine a new voice behind any of them. I am afraid they are just going to "kill off" those characters gradually one by one. Over the years they "killed off" quite a few.
Not surprised. I've probably met only one or two females in my whole life that genuinely liked the Simpsons.
It really is a male show. I do not watch it much these days but I did many years ago. And when I could convince my wife to watch it, she would do so but not find anything funny about it. She watched some funny Simpsons shows, too.
While possible, I find it hard to believe that they would kill of Mr. Burns. He is such an iconic character for them.
Alright! I guess they've agreed to pay him a gazillion more. Good job Mr. Harry Shearer! Indeed, peace has been restored. https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/simpsons-harry-shearer-return-reaching-174706647.html
LOL, I just heard about this on the news and recalled this thread. The way that the newscaster put it, it sounded like Harry conceded a bit and agreed to work under the same contract as the other voice actors. Anyway, Mr. Burns lives!
I loved the older season of The Simpsons few years ago, now they do not have the magic and the comedy they had back then.
