My website is not being "Cached" by google as often as my competitors. How exactly do you get your website Cached, and is it benefitial if it is getting cached more often?

Does the home page need to be updated. B/c I update the blog everyday and write articles about once a week.

Keep updating your site. Add new contents and articles, more you update your site more "bot" crawls will be over there....Which results quick cache.
