Not a valid Windows Movie Maker file

I imported a couple of tif files into Windows Movie Maker and dragged them to the timeline. I streched them out over 20 seconds and added some text/titles.
Then I saved it to my computer. It saved as a .wmv file.
But when I select it to play (in Windows media player) a box pops up and states:

.....Not a valid Windows Movie Maker Project file.....

Can you tell me why/help me?

    Thanks

So you have published the movie into a .wmv file and when you play it in windows media player it comes up with that its not a valid project file???
^ if it is that, try re-saving the movie.

And does movie maker actually allow the use of .tif files?? it might allow them in but not actually be able to play them when it is saved.....

Well said. TIFF is advanced format of image which can be embedded with several other info than just pixel transparency and color value.Movie maker isn't that much intelligent to read it.
