Whenever I use drop down javascript menus I always put a text menu in <noscript> tags for search engines and people without javascript. Is there anything to stop people adding lots of links inside <noscript> tags purely for search engines to see? I realise this is probably spamming or something and was curious rather than considering using this method.
Well, if you add only a few links it won't be a big problem, but remember, for navigation... Don't start linking to other domains...
If you put there the same link(s) which you used in the JavaScript it is useful for your users who has JS turned off and search engines will like If you will make a JS which will contain 1 link e. g. to your homepage and between <noscript> tags you will create a link farm => you will probably get into troubles
