If any of you use Norten Internet Security Suite then you will notice a pop-up warning message on all Clickbank checkout pages. On my computer the warning does not trigger until you get to checkout. In other words, hop links to the vendor sales page are not affected but as soon as the customer is ready to pull out there credit card a small window pops up which warns of potential malicous activity. I will post some screen shots later tonight because I am in a hurry. What I found is there are a handful of affiliates who are adding invasive tracking through their hoplink redirects. Needless to say this will affect sales for both affiliates and publishers. If anyone has a contact within CB they should pass this message along. There is a way to appeal the warning message if you are the site owner.
Mc afee did something similar a long time ago but clickbank got it all sorted. Guess we need to contact clickbank on this.
Well that would be one of the reasons for the recent downturn in sales. Did Norton give anything specific as to why it thinks the page is a threat? Is it misidentified as a phishing site, or does it think there is a torjan on the page
Here is the link where Norton sends you if you click on their "Potential Threat" pop-up... http://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=clickbank.net
Just noticed it yesterday and I have been running Norton since November. BTW - you don't have to register to leave your own rating, so everyone here should take a moment to give clickbank a positive rating. Here is the link again... http://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=clickbank.net
this could become a serious problem if it isn't dealt with quickly. If we're jumpy about this, about how Clickbank employees must feel. We've got affiliate sales at risk, Clickbank has an entire company. By the way I left a review.
I wonder who left this one: clickbank is not a threat clickbank is a payment processor like paypal, those crappy products are the real threat. lol
All of our positive comments raised the "average score" to a good rating. Thanks to everyone who took a second to rate the site. We should continue to monitor this in case clickbank's score goes back down for negative comments.
