Whats great about dp is the diversity of people and opinions. This is what the sharing of ideas and debating is all about. Im sure I have agreed with north on some thing (iraq war) and disagreed with him on other things, but wouldnt it be a boring planet if everyone thought the same way? How would we progress as a species then?
I hope he comes back, whatever the reason why he is leaving.:)

Uh - just a bit embarrassed by the attention...

Can I say, Mia - man -bumping a thread that has been dead for close to 2 years, to say, uh, you're bummed I make a post every couple of weeks or so, if that, anymore - this, too, in your arsenal of "effective?"

Well...folks, I was sincerely flattered (and a bit embarrassed, to he honest) when Ly2 made this thread, back then; and thanks, Nate, Ping, Wisdom (below) for your kindnesses now, Ping - especially gracious of you, as we've traded barbs, unfortunately, and I've stumbled from time to time with you. I'm truly humbled, and grateful for the kind thoughts. And I agree with you wholeheartedly - it's a big world, room for all of us, and may I live by that as well as you've spoken now.

Mia, man - just really sorry I'm apparently so important, in your life, as usual. Hope you find happiness at some point.

Anyway, the inconsequential news is that I've been on the mend for a long time, it's been a long road, but getting some help;** spending less time with words, a good amount of time playing gypsy jazz guitar. Not much to say (Mia, you should find comfort, here), just a desire to get well, and do what I can to master this amazing genre of music.

    Peace, health, wealth, all.

***(Nate - many thanks for the thoughts in this way some time ago - for anyone suffering from chronic pain stemming from spinal or other injury, yep, I'd say - try anything...while not out of the woods, yet, I've gotten some real relief from the trigger point therapy.)

I had quite a shock when I read this. Have personally benefited a lot from northpointaiki posts. Hope he can continue to share his knowledge with us. Any unhappiness over any issues do PM any of the mods or post at Suggestion Forums.

Do you remember when we were really really fighting regarding the Mormon case and implications it had on individual rights? Even then I believed that even one of your posts has more value than everything Mia has posted in this forum. ;)

    The voice of experience.... :p

I'm glad you pointed that out. I don't come around very often (anymore) and wasn't paying attention to the dates.

Folks who can engage in thoughtful discussions without taking everything to a personal level are valued assets to a community. I would count NPT in that group even though we usually don't see things in a similar light.

I think he finds happiness (to some extent) in playing the (troll) game.

I wasn't aware until today, combing Timsdd's threads on Pics of DP/Non-DP members, that Mia's rage extends to lies and slanders on other threads, sadly enough. I knew he has become so fixated on me that he has taken to slandering me on other websites, but wasn't aware until today that he simply goes to other sections to continue his sad need. (No, I, uh, am NOT the naked 1000 lb dude at his keyboard - lol, though nice attempt, Jer...sick as it was).

I mean it sincerely - it's sad when a guy nearing 40 behaves this way. Jeremy, as I know you're watching, I hope you find peace.

I've never heard of him, so i suppose my answer is 'who cares'.

Best of luck to him though... i'm sure he'll end up coming back... why don't you start a Facebook fan club for him or something, or even better... do something constructive with your time :p
