My northbridge fan went out on my asus motherboard. I'm going to replace it and cant decide if I should use a "cooler" or another 40mm fan. Can you guys please send your advice and experiences. If you have experiance can you describe things like fan noise, cooling temps ect. pros and cons Thanks a lot.
If your case is well ventilated, you probably won't even need a northbridge fan. Just put a big heat sink on it, and make sure some clean/cold air is flowing past it.
I got some heat sinks to replace the northbridge fan when it went on my motherboard, but they stuck up to high and the graphics card would not go back in
It all depends on your cabinet ventilation design... If more space is available for air to enter free... then don't need a North bridge fan. But it might be better you use a heat sink and fan
