North Korea is triggering the test of a nuclear device that has the potential to hit Japan if it falls short. Is this the beginning of the end? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,199952,00.html
Yes, let's hide in our borders. Surely, nothing outside concerns us, and no one will come bothering us if we never say anything about anyone. Right?
Anyone can call North Korea crazy, but they aren't. They are smart enough not to do anything that would get their country taken over in a second.
I've been following this in the news for the past few days... I think it will either be huge or nothing at all. Frankly, I hope WW3 doesn't start next week so here's hoping North Korea will back down.
After reading about the differences of liquid-fueled rockets as compared to solid- fueled rockets, I would hope that Japan has it's umbrellas up. Because most of these usually blow up in the atmosphere as the liquid fuel usually gets to hot to deal with atmospheric pressures. This is why USA went to solid cored rocket fuels for the Minutemen missiles. Heads Up! Japan.
Isolationism works till a big country like the US or Japan gets bombed, and absolutely everyone economically related to them feels the sting. Theorically (but not realistically) it could reach America's mainland. Who knows how dirty their bomb is...I don't believe it's hydrogen, so it could potential (but not realistically) make your fellow Mexicans gain an extra eye or arm. The deem it's practical effectiveness to be around 2000 miles...quite a bit short, but you never know, since technically it's possible that it could go farther.
How can a missile test be a threat to japan? north korea has every right to test their missiles america does it all the time. This is just bs about north korea now, north korea isn't targetting japan so they are no threat directly to japan. The media makes kim jong il look like a crazy man, he isn't, he is far smarter than bush actually, it's bush we should be worried about, not kim jong il. isolation never works, ONLY makes countries and people extreme, never ever isolate your enemy, it's the worse ever tactic.
Ok, if you think N korea is justified in doing this..I dare you to swim northbound into N Korea in the Yellow Sea..go ahead I dare ya. i bet you also think madeline half-wit's party with crazy kim was a grand old shin-dig too...I tell ya "liberals".
Usually when a country says they'll test a missile, they supply absolutely all the information on what they'll be doing...NK has been fairly quiet on specifics. It doesn't prove anything, but it's worth watching. What about the cold war? I would say the majority of the time the US was doing everything it could do to isolate Russia. Hell, JFK spoke with russia leader's Khrushchev, and they perceived him as weak...and so they decidely put weapons in Cuba. One can't say what a isolating stance would have done to prevent that....but that was one of the key reasons Khrushchev felt he could do it...the weakness he saw in JFK. Luckily JFK boldened up and isolated Khrushchev with an ultimatum or we'd be at the mercy of Fidel/Communism for a long time. I agree to some level, but I think closeness should only translate to intelligience. Places like NK aren't changing anytime soon, and we're not going to swoon them over with anything.
