Nooby at the WWW - would love review / suggestions

Hi,

I've been hanging out at these forums for about a month now. Ive finally gained enough will to attempt to create a website. I have very limited HTML skills and even more limited skills when it comes to get people to check my site out.

I would love to hear what you all think of it

Your site is not bad... I like the simple design even though I didn't like the yellow background to the right, it is annoying. Also I'm not used to seeing site menus to the right, they are usually to the left which was a bit confusing.

 

A very good first site, i was half expecting blood dripping dividers and lots of animation, instead i found a well thoughtout design

I love the witty introduction, it intrigues me and a refreshing mix of humour and honesty is always welcomed on the www

I agree about the yellow and navigation, perhaps a shade, two notches darker, would improve the stalkness of the yellow and a simple shift to the left will help visitors find their way around

 

Thank you - I will do my best to change the colors and navigation once I get some time off from school Its a llittle hard focusing both on my site and on my grades

Any other advice?

 

Join some good blog topsites, webrings etc to bring in the initial traffic

Ive also submitted about 10 articles to ezine

Just wanted to say that I tried implementing as many suggestions as possible. I found that by not shoving ads down peoples throats, they tended to click on them more

Since i've made some of the changes suggested - Ive seen a small increase in my adsense ctr

Currently, my only goal is to make $100 / month.

I have not reached that goal yet - right now that seems like a pipe dream

hey, looks good, but just wanted to mention that in my explorer the content and menu dont fit next to each other, so that results in that the right side is forced to the bottom. I'm on Winxp 1024/768 IE 6(laptop). Good luck!
