    I need a domain name.

If I wand to optimize for a word like "dummytext", is there any important difference between "dummytextblabla" and "dummytext-blabla". Which is better to use ?

No important difference, you can see that google bolds both variations in search results for a given keyword. I would still go for dummytextblabla.

    cheers

I think there is importance between a single keyword than the hypenated one. Try to search a keyword without hypen and record the number of results, then search another keyword with hypen. The second one gives different number of searches. A single letter added to your keywords reflects different results on your searches.

    Example:
For a diamond keyword it gives the results of 158,000,000 while diamonds has only 53,400,000.
