If I get thousands of impressions and low/zero CTR does that mean I must optimize my keywords a little better? Or does my add need changing ? In my 3 line adword ad, can I put anything I like in the 3 lines (What I mean is that will it affect the amount I pay? Or does CPC only relate to Keywords? How long after I kick-off a new add should I wait before I start to get accurate stats on how my ad is performing ? I know its good to be on the first page 1-4 ads.....BUT what if google estimates my ad will be 10-20 for example....should I still give it a go or am I wasting my time (should I optimize my keywords). Is it true that if my keywords are identical or very similar to the words on my landing page then it will benefit my CPC and Ad Rank? Does google do this directly by comparing KW to my site OR is it something that happens naturally i.e. Good/Accurate Advertising = more people going to my site..therefore google sees this and boosts my ad rank and even gives me the ads for cheaper. .........anyone kapish ? Cheers, And sorry to fill this forum with mor FAQ's.
Try both CPC relates to the quality and Max CPC of your ad, which is measured mainly by the CTR history of an advert and landing page quality score. You can put anything you like in the ad, subject to AdWords TOS, to improve it's quality - but bear in mind there's no point paying for a click which you won't convert because of a misleading ad. It depends on your daily budget and max CPC (ie how many impressions you rack up) - but to get a true performance metric you need to allow a statistically significant amount of stats to build up (1000's of impressions) Positions 10+ are not going to show up on the 1st page of search results in most cases, and if you're advertising on the content network, your placement will be in the third ad unit, which most likely means poor placing or an ad stuffed page. CTR will be much much less than if you can get a 1-6 position, and so it'll be hard to build up a good quality score and reduce your CPC. Landing page quality score is a factor in CPC, yes. A poorly optimised and irrelevant page will likely increase the CPC you have to pay to keep your ads active. Do some research on this to get some opinions on how to optimise your pages. Landing page quality is determined by Google spidering your landing pages with an AdWords bot. What you descibe above is the quality score of your advert itself, which is based on CTR and ad history. Hope this helped
