Hi... I have a few questions and need lots of help. I'm 24 and desperate to make money. I was laid off from my job a couple months ago and haven't found anything, so I decided to finally start to put to good use my decent Photoshop and basic knowledge of Dreamweaver and CSS and I started my first website - penschat.com - which is just a fun hangout site for hockey fans. I want to learn a few things there before I start doing something more serious. First off, I'd like to know why on this page - penschat.com/popout.html - AdSense is not picking up my keywords. I continue to get ads for only pens, and not the Pittsburgh Penguins or hockey (we call them the Pens, obviously). I added meta keywords a couple days ago and yesterday added a hidden div with more keywords, but still nothing. Second, I have OpenX installed but have also taken a look at Google Ad Manager. I'm already using AdSense obviously and Google Analytics so I'm wondering if I should stick with Google for ad management. What are the benefits of each and which one is more effective? Also, since my website only has 2 pages where people chat for long periods of time, I need ads that reload after a few minutes in order to record more impressions. On Saturday night, with only 1 link from a local newspaper's hockey blog, I got a number of people to show up and about 5 of them stayed on the site during the hockey game for 3 whole hours. I was happy about that but obviously if they don't refresh the page a number of times I'm only getting 1 impression from those people. I need ads that reload automatically. I've Googled this a couple times and haven't found any programs with reloading ads. And lastly, are there any programs out there that let me pick custom-sized ads? I'm not a big fan of the leaderboards or the 468x60s. I like how you can set up custom ads on AdBrite with a specific number of small text ads horizontally or vertically. Too bad AdBrite's ads are HORRIBLE compared to Google. I want to pull all of them but right now I have nothing to replace them with. I'm also on LinkShare but the programs I want (mostly NHL and other sports companies) haven't approved me yet. I know that's a lot of stuff... Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated.
