Hello All, Within the last two hours I've received spam right in my contact email from a noob on this forum who has no posts on record and just registered tonight. The criminal was audacious enough to post a link in the spam right to his contact info in this forum. A sample of the message follows: This is a message from **** at Digital Point Forums ( http://forums.digitalpoint.com/index.php ). The Digital Point Forums owners cannot accept any responsibility for the contents of the email. To email ****, you can use this online form: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/sendmessage.php?do=mailmember&u=****** OR, by email: mailto:*****@yahoo.cn hi,friend: christmas is coming, in this holiday,do you want to give your family, your love,or your friends a best gift? do you want to let them feeling your warm heart? in your options, you can check off not to receive email from members. if you leave this unchecked, you will not get unsolicted emai in your inbox. look for Receive Email from Other Members and leave it unchecked.
Thanks sawz, I guess I'll have to do that. I originally didn't in the hope that I would be able to receive legitimate emails from those who are using this forum as it was intended. A shame we can't have the guy banned or something, since that's all he is apparently in here for is to cause unhappiness. Oh well, such is life on the frontier. Cheers, Neil
Makes sense, of course, but I didn't know if posting the username in a public thread was appropriate either. Ok, the offender is: "grmen".
