I get the basics of PPC, so i have tested a few things, i am using yahoo and google and have started several campaigns in both, and i am using azoogle and CJ affiliates for my testing ground, i looked through clickbank but i only found crap to promote, nothing that could really turn a profit..

Anyways, on google i have 5 different campaigns, all different style, i am promoting hosting, mortgage refinancing, some book club, a contest and some dvd's.

So far between all of them i have accumulated 200 clicks without a conversion on anything, some campaigns i have 100+ keywords, and some i only have 6-7 hard targeted keywords, i manage to get the same results... I really dont know what i am doing wrong, i am getting good positions on the keywords i want. Getting clicks is not the issue, just the conversion..

Any recommendations for this noob, maybe an idea of something with a decent conversion rate so i can test the water more..

Right now i am just lost.

DD: for one thing, you've chosen some insanely competitive niches. Hosting and mortgage refinancing are tough. Second, when you say 200 clicks spread between 5 campaigns, that's only average of 40 clicks per campaign. there's no hard-and-fast figure for how many clicks it takes to get a conversion, but I often find i need to achieve 100 clicks on one campaign for a conversion.

I got 130 on one and 70 on another, the other ones are far less, no conversions on nothing tho. The hosting and mortgage are the lesser ones, i did not put much effort into them. The 130 one is girls gone wild dvds, i am assuming those are just crappy ones to promote, the 70 has been on a scholastic book club that you get like 8 disney books for 4.99 or something, nothing has been earned on either

You get out what you put in:)

As flip said you're starting in some pretty competitive markets. My advice would be to pick a smaller niche and focus on it - do lot's of research and lots of testing. Once you have identified something that works try and build on it.

In addition, conversion is going to be about the content, layout, ease of use, etc of your sites. If you are getting quality leads to your site you should take a look at the offer you are making and consider doing some testing on the sire side.
