Noob Needs Help!!!!!!!!

Can some one tell me how to move my wordpress site from 1and1 to my hosgator server? I do know how to point the DNS to hostgator once content and site are moved. Would be much appritiated and thanks in advance to anyone for the help..

 

Connect through ftp and download all files in the www directory.
Open up phpmyadmin for the database and Export everything to a DB backup file.

In hostgator, upload all the files to public_html directory, create a database, assign username and pass to it, open up phpmyadmin and import the DB backup file.

You may have to edit wp-config.php

Usually, web hosts do this for free in case you cannot do it manually....
