    hello,

I got a flash banner I simply can not link it (the swf file) to another website for the life of it.:(

I retraced my steps and simply can not figure out what I'm doing wrong, please help me. I attached a quickie, I made an overall layer on the top of the whole banner, converted it to symbol and applied a GEt URL action to it........I click on the banner and nothing happens.
I made the word "link" dynamic and linked it to the same site....I click on it and NADA.....nothing... nothing shows unless thre's a mistake in the URL...like 4w(wwww.) or httttp: or no //.

What I'm trying to do is..........when the user hovers the banner itself in the website and clicks on it (the banner), he/she will be redirected to the website specified in the URL.

    Thanks and advance,

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Try the "behaviour" panel, it's quicker than writing your code and works perfect for banners.

In Flash, go into the "Window" tab at the top, then "Behaviour" which brings up your behaviour panel.
Then with your invisible button (The movieclip covering your banner) selected, click on the plus sign, then "Web", then "go to URL". Simply enter your URL and the MC will get the code attached to it.

    thanks for the input.

I've done all the stuff that you suggested, works in flash preview but when I try it in I.E. or FF it just does nothing, same as I started.

Why not make the swf its self a link instead of using a behaviour to link.

    I did, still no go.

how does one do that? it's not an image and I can't link the layer(where the swf resides).
