First off let me get this clear, are the 125x125 ad boxes on the right of most blogs affiliate ads or something else? I really need a way to gauge an estimate of how much those ads are paying on site that I look at. Eg, If I went to www.johncow.com then checked it's traffic with compete, then could i estimate some income per 125x125 box ad? I want to use this information to generate a target reader number per different tiers of expected monthly or yearly income. Eg. How many readers for 5k a year, how many for ten, how many for 15k, 20k, etc. And how many affiliate ads, adsense and other I would need. So to start, how much to these ads generally pay? is it a weekly or monthly contract? Is it ppc? what pay rates vs traffic? etc.
Most are the advertisers them selves or other affiliate marketers advertising to gain profit. Lets say cost $300 for john chow 125x125 ad & aweber is what your advertising. If you get $20 a lead per referral you get 1000 clicks 20 leads = $400 dollars gain $100 profit off a 30 day advertisement. Hope this helps to your success!
Partially, but I have no way to gauge that. On my own web site i want to charge for the ad block, people ask how much i charge, and I have no clue what to tell them. Do I say, 50 a month? 100 a month? Some cpc amount?
For a new site I would recommend anything is better then zero give it to them $10 to 25 just cause its new see how many clicks it gets then go from there no need to be charging a lot you want to keep advertisers for the long run not just let them advertise for one month then go else where the month after. hope this helps you your success!
