Basically I'm looking for different kinds of chain stores in other countries. The name of the chain/store would be helpul, the website even better. If anyone has any bright ideas on other ways to get this information I'd be a very happy man!

    Type/UK Equivilent

    Supermarket Chains (Tescos Asda)
    Pharmacy Chains (Lloyds, Moss)
    Catalogue Shops (Argos)
Mail Order Catalogues (Great Universal, Grattans)

    Target countries

    USA
    Canada
    France
    Italy
    Belgium
    Austria
    Hungary
    Norway
    Sweden
    Denmark
    Finland
    Ireland
    Germany
    Greece
    Holland
    Czech Republic
    Portugal
    Switzerland
    Poland
    Iceland
    South Africa
    Australia
    New Zealand

    Cheers guys

Although I can't recommend one, sounds like you need to find business directories dedicated to each country. That should save you some time. So rather than search for each type of business separately, look for a directory that will contain many of them.
Perhaps there is a national chamber of commerce?

What about trade publications? That'd be the fastest way to go - and search for "supermarket market share canada [or other name of country]"

    Canada:
    - Canadian Tire
    - Tim Horton
    - Pizzadelic
    - Couche Tard
    - Jean Coutu
    - Metro
    - Provigo
    - IGA
    - Loblaws
    - Rona
    - Reno Depot
    etc., etc...

If interested, I could send you a database including 1000's of canadian companies like that. How about a nice link to my website in exchange? Cheap no? I used to work for a canadian marketing company that was targeting companies like that. I believe the database has a few websites, along with emails of key employees as well. :)

No, it's for the company that I work for. We manufacture home blood pressure monitors, Tens machines and thermometers. We're planning on exporting directly to the larger stores instead of through distributors.

Thanks for all the help so far guys!

    MattUK,

in S'pore, we have a store that sells such good known as
Guardian Pharmacy which is under the umbrella of Coldstorage
Group that is own by Diary Farm.

website to coldstorage that I know is www.coldstorage.com.sg

this is the biggest operation shopping mall for
online and offline (in local area only). I knew afew
of the directors, but it would most appropriate
that you visit the site and press the contact us
    button.
