My site is a very crappy one with approximately 2-300 vistors a day. But today there were approx. 700 vistors coming to my site and click on my adsense (mainly from HK and China). The main reason for those vistors coming to my site is because I have posted an article on a chinese forum yesterday night and they came to my site thru the link in that article. The good news is: I got a pretty good amount of clicks on my adsense (even higher than the CTR I normally got) My question here is: Do Adsense really care where I got the traffic from? Or are they going to ban me (one day) because of the high proportion of non US traffic?
for now it seems like G only cares about the language your page is on visitors are not something you can actually control
Google cares the origin of traffic and of course your sites lang. Most of my sites in Turkish this one is ipedia.net english. if visitor from turkey then G gives to 1 click 3-5 cent if visitor from USA then it gives 30-50 cent.
Let's not forget that if you have US, or other, ads showing to visitors from china, etc it is because advertisers have opted to show their ads to people in those countries. It's the advertisers call so it shouldn't be a problem with Google. Generally speaking though, advertisers can buy non-US clicks much more cheaply so you may well find that the average amount per click you receive is lower, plus there may be less advertisers willing to show their ads outside the US which will also affect how much you get.
did you find the click value from the chinese visitors was lower than usual (compared to your usualy stats)?
cpc for non-US traffic is most of the times lower in some cases like UK and Australia it might match the US
I used to have adsense on one of my Chinese sites but i find that it drops my CTR right down and I was afraid of it smartpricing my other ads so I took it down.
