Hi All Basically this scenario will only affect those whose adwords accs are in non US currency. We all know that bid positions are affected by bid prices (and other factors) which affects conversions. Now we also know from google that the bid prices are all converted to USD when the adwords system caculates bids/bid positions, etc. So if your own home currency loses value against the USD (as in my case), your non-us bid has a lower value in USD. This will naturally affect bid positions and hence conversions. This is what I think anyway as I have noticed a marked drop in conversions (on content network) when my home currency started going south quite badly. Now the thing about content (as I have seen) is that you will still get clicks and costs as per normal as I think the system puts you on sites that are less inclined to convert if your bids drop. End result - more or less same clicks, more or less same cost, drop in roi, drop in actual conversions. I would love to hear some input/discussion from fellow adwords users out there.
Hi...is this true? My account is in the UK and I've certainly noticed a drop off in conversions over the last 3 days...and the $/£ conversion rate has also dropped off too...?
Your clicks and costs are the same, yet you blame a drop in conversions on a drop in your currency? Doesn't make any sense. My conversions have dropped this month, too. As there are no indications that it's my fault, I'm assuming that the global economy problem and people's increasing reluctance to spend may be the cause. I may be wrong, but it sounds reasonable to me - at least until I can find another possible cause.
