Hello boys and gals, I've just installed the Wordpress on one of my domains and published a few articles I copied from other websites, which means that I now have non unique content on my pages. My question is: If I do good link building for my website, will I get some organic traffic even these articles are non unique or Google will ignore my pages and will not rank me? To make long story short: is there any way to get organic traffic with non unique articles? Cheers, Vazon
hmm that is an interesting question...I have run duplicate content and gotten organic google traffic without doing any back linking....my duplicate content was videos and rss feeds but I assume you would be able to have some success copying text and using an aggressive back linking campaign...I would advise to somewhat reword the articles, or hope that you have better pr than the website you stole it from...hope that helps
Yeah, I can hire someone to rewrite these articles but I am just curious will I get anything with simply copy-paste... Other question: What if I take 4 articles on same topic from different domains, then mix them together and publish as one article. Will my article be 25% non unique or 100% non unique ?
Some what I have read, google do not flown on content that has been copy from other sites, I have done the same in the past
Google don't like duplicate content, the serp of your blog can't help you to get quality organic traffic.
If you are just adding up all the four articles and not doing any rewriting... then of course, your content would be 100% duplicate! Regards, RightMan
You will get some traffics if you have build enough links to gain trust and authority status from Google. However, it is depends on the sources you get the contents. If the original sources is already strong then it would be a waste to compete with them. You should not forget about domain age factors and website history profile factor too. P.S. Most of authority link sources, including major directory such as Business.com / Joeant / BOTW do always checking site for their uniqueness before got them approved. It does mean if your website has solely 100% duplicated content by scrape other peoples content, then it would be easily identical and hardly to gain link from trust source anyway.
Well, if this article was published long ago than thre is no reason for google rank you better than the source website.
Building a good network of backlinks to duplicate content is much more expensive and time consuming than just rewriting the content. And even more, you have no guaranty that your backlinked duplicate content will be shown in SERP, while unique content gets to SERP easily without any backlinks. So, I would advise simply sit for a day and rewrite what you have to get in SERP cheap and fast.
Believe me when I say that you might get some traffic in the first few weeks but after that your site will be penalized. I have experienced this before.
The simple answer is no, you won't be that successful scrapping content from other sites. The way in which Google works is that Page Rank is made up of over 100 variables at least and backlinks are only one. Even if you got 1,000's of backlinks google might still see your site as a spam site. Original content works much better even 40 original articles on a site that has good backlinks will be far superior to thousands of duplicate articles
Interesting opinions, thanks for your replies. Since English is not my first language I think I'll not be very successful article writer. This is why I am looking for other solution. However, I may try to find a content writer and to offer to her/him revenue share. And now that lead us to different question: Are we allowed to have adSense blocks which belongs to two different accounts on same page? For example, if I find an article writer I would like to place their an my own adSense blocks on my pages. Is this against adSense TOS? (I know that this is question for adSense subforum, but guess that lot of you here know right answer)
I think that it is allowed as I have seen such on many Revenue sharing websites. They usually give few percentage to the writers and keep the whole with them.
try to write your own content, or at least rewrite from a source, that way you won't have any problem getting penalized from google
I am busy with website promotion and link building. I think that a partnership with a content writer will be a good thing. Only I have to be sure that I am allowed to place on my website my own Google adSense and adSense ads which belongs to content writer.
From my experience, duplicate content will get penalty on ranking from Google. But remember, Google algorithm still a secret. Maybe, you should mix duplicate content and unique content so you wont be penalized by Google.
Yes, i agree many sites copy the content. but i think content is always important and unique and according to your services....
