    Hello Friends,

It is close to 4 weeks that I have not received the cheque from Paypal. I mean Paypal has issued it, but I have not received the same.

I know it is yet not the time to press the Panic button, but since last 2 times, I received in about 3 weeks. I was wondering if someone could help me with the following questions please.

    1) What is the maximum time period I should wait before following up with
    Paypal.

    2) In case of such eventaulity, I am not aware of the process of requesting
for a new cheque from Paypal. In fact, I am not sure Paypal whether
    issues a new Cheque.

    3) Do I have not incur heavy fees for the second cheque ? I know Paypal
will not issue for free but are the charges heavy ?

    4) Any Indian guys out there who have received the cheque very late?

    5) Any advise from you regarding the above will be highly appreciated.

Some of you would already be knowing about the mental state after working like a bull and then your money stranded in between....:). Please help.

    Thanks and Regards

    Hey Gopal,

why you choose cheque method, when you can get direct bank deposit in 3-4 working days very easily. I never used cheque method when I know I have fast method.

Meantime you can always ask from Paypal about the status of your cheque.

    Cheers!

    Hello GoforHunt

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

I am from India. I never knew there was a legal of getting direct bank transfers for Paypal account. All the while, I was hearing from Paypal and also from some members of this forum that there is no other way for Indians than to withdraw by cheque method. (Since I dont have US Bank account) Some also say Xoom is not legal as far as Paypal is concerned.

However, I would be glad if you assist how you manage to do direct Bank deposit. I will try next time when I withdraw. But please I dont want any way which paypal feels suspicious and closes my account, I have enough controversies in hand....:) Nothing like 3-4 working days to get your money.. it would be really sweet.

In the meantime, any possible solution for my current problem of my cheque stranded. I hope the money wont go down the drain...

Thanks a ton for your guidance

    Regards

It has taken a good 3 months for me to receive one of their checks. Be patient.

The cheque from PP is non-stoppable. If your cheque remains unclaimed for 6 months, the fund automatically gets back to your PP a/c & yes at that time you will loose big due to currency exchange rates & fees. I had once got my cheque almost after 2 months & One cheque was reversed which was missed by the post, but this was almost 3 years back. Now-a-day I am getting cheques within 15-20 days. When the cheque was reversed to my PP a/c I lost $99 for $1200 withdrawal (due to decrease in USD/INR rate) plus $5 fees for that cheque. You can try xoom for direct deposit or cheque request. Only local pick up is against the rule of RBI.

No it is not. XOOM is meant for sending money to your friends and families. If you want to show your money earned through your business as "sent by a friend" then go ahead. Oh well!

I have been using 2checkout for sometime now because they wire directly
to your bank. The fees are bit more than Paypal but the extra fees is worth
    the service provided.

If you are serious about your business and want to stay professional by all
means then eliminate things like xoom, cash2india, WU, moneygram etc.

Here is what XOOM says in their FAQ:

The same applies for WU and moneygram too. And yes there is a yearly limit.
So when you are providing service you should be freed from all these restrictions and use something that adds to your business credibility.

Or is it the chips that only matters to you ... nothing else?

    Hello Hexadesigns,

Thank you so much for that valuable input. I could have been easily in a spot if I started using Xoom. I indeed want a professional way and have one easy transcation system so that I may worry about getting opportunites of making money rather than such trival issues.

You have been simply great in putting the matter black and white. Thank you. I shall go through the 2checkout system and hope it works well with me too. You are right, if they are absorbing the tension of getting the money safely and in less time, it is worth paying bit more.

    Thank you once again

    Regards

Gopal i understand your worries :(

    Answers for your questions.

    1) You have to wait at least 45 days before following up with paypal.

    2) After 45 days you have to request them for cheque cancellation and they will cancell your cheque and refund you money back in your paypal account. After that you can request for new cheque if you want.

    3) They charge $15 for cancellation of cheque. They will refund you rest balance in your account within 7-10 days.

    4) Sometimes indian members getting their cheque evenafter 45 days too.

    5) You can use xoom for this. Its easy, fast and secure too. ;)
