Any of you having success running a non-english site and making decent Adsense revenue? If so what's your site's language?
Clicks are around 30, 40 cents for a forum in french. that is pretty descent I guess for a forum (very low CTR). It is a general forum targetting Tunisia (that's a country in the north of Africa, for fellows is america ) and most of the ads are travel related which have usually low cpc.
I run a couple of dutch sites and I average around 10 cents a click. I'm building some english language sites so I can see the difference.
I wonder if it affects smartpricing. I also wonder if, when part of site is nonenglish but there is no adsense there smartpricing is affected..
There are 10 times less internet users speaking German, French, Spanish or any other language compared to the number of people able to read English. In many cases, it is way easier to increase by 10% the number of visitors of an existing site in English. Jean-Luc
I just posted this thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=48395 I'm wondering if I did the same on my content sites revenue could double if not triple. I have been trying to figure out what software does this sort of thing.
Do any have any idea how Contextual Ads are displayed on non-english sites? Are the Ads in english or respective languages?? Thanks,
take the link in the post, if you change the language the adsense ads change to another language as well.
Over a dollar a click for a Dutch site but I recently took off Adsense as affiliate programs make 5x more.
Good Point, but it just like finding small niches. It may be a good idea to cover all the bases and go after all niches whether small or large. Smaller niches also usually have less competition.
With english sites, advertisers must pay a higher price to appear, cause the market is higher. With other languages prices per clic are lower, of course, but we must think that the difference depends on the keyword. I have several spanish sites. Some have about 0.04 $/clic and some others are giving me up to 2 $/click. About CTR, it's the same is we I had an english site. To sum up, most non-english languages have in general lower CPC, cause english market is bigger and advertisers must pay a higher CPC to appear en AdSense ads.
