Non English site best category

    Hi,

    I need some advice from you, since I have a non English site (Portuguese forum about travel) and I'm only accepted in 10% of submissions I made :(

    The description I use is in English and usually try to submit to regional/world category and in last place in the travel category.

    Why 90% reject my submission?
    What should I do to be accepted ... this is just a forum about travel.

    Another question, do directory owners delete unacceptable submissions (so that I can resubmit again) or just place then as inactive.

    Thanks

    NN

    Its a hard one to answer as each site has very different rules but personally i accept non english sites in the world category...

    I do howver delete submissions i wont approve and not just leave them inactive.

    Hope that helps.

    I think the regional/world category is okay.
    Usually I just delete them.

    I agree, different directories, different rules.
    I think if there is a World category, that should be fine.

    But on many free directories I see in the guidelines (if there are guidelines) that the sites must be in English or must have an English part.

    Well in my own directories i have the following:

    --> Non-english language
    Regional
    --> World Regions

    Now when someone has submitted a site into Non-english language category and found the correct country category to submit to, they need to have submitted everything in that language.

    Unfortunately i will receive a great site, everythings sweet, but they have submitted the description in english, if they submit the description in the language to match the site i will approve.

    Its a shame i know, but they miss being listed.

    Read the guidelines.
    But usually these links go under World or Regional, if directory accepts non English sites.

    I accept non-english sites - if they are good - in the appropriate category. Like yours would be under forums, but the submission has to be in the original language.
    It's no use to submit a foreign language site in English when then a visitor clicks through and lands on a site which they do not understand. :)

    As other pointed, all directories have their own rules so I can't really say on what basis your submission was rejected.

    For you, I think its best to submit under "world/regional" category and more precisely if there is any category for Portuguese.

    We have one at BWD under "Regional" and will be happy to serve you :)
