Non-English Ads

I've been seeing more and more ads showing, which is great, however I've seen a couple "non-english" ads and was wondering if this is allowed?

Any thoughts in the future to be able to filter out certain ads?

Why wouldn't this be allowed & why would you want to filter it out? As long as it not an adult site, etc.

Right now the only restrictions are no gambling, pharmaceutical or adult ads. People can run non-English ads if they want.

It just looks kinda bad, imo - just doesn't really fit in an all-english site.

(we did a link exchange last week, and I didn't even know you were on this board! )

I know it would be a lot of work, and would probably take a lot of resources... just curious if you've looked into it. ;)

Yeah... Most likely something will be an option, but there are some backend complexities I need to do for it. For example, if someone chooses to filter ads from a certain URL, their weight would need to be lowered slightly (proportionally to the percentage of the total weight of the network they are choosing to not display).

Yeah, I just realized that also. Small world.;)

I would vote that it is okay for non-english ads - need to entice more sites to the network and to make it only english wouldn't help that cause. Maybe a future - future - future enhancement.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking as well... probably a lot of hassel. ;) Would be a great tool, that's for sure. One I would pay to use. ;) I know I have a lot of "suggestions" and "ideas" for the network, but seriously Shawn, this is an awesome idea. I highly recommend it to everyone I know.

We should chat more, and maybe we can do a little cross-advertising or something - you've got a great site!
