Non-DMOZ DMOZ directories - such as Netscape directory and similars

    Netscape search has DMOZ directory
and many other directories i have seen use DMOZ
    but
fact is their directory still appears to have far less entries than ORIGINAL DMOZ from dmoz.org

right now these hours once more, i am looking at netscape directory - same categories as dmoz and see
    http://search.netscape.com/ns/brows...gion_and_Spirituality&source=NSCPIndex&id=373
    netscape(dmoz) Christianity (0)
    and
    http://www.dmoz.org/Society/Religion_and_Spirituality/
    DMOZ original: # Christianity (77,784)

since netscape browser often uses netscape search - the results are different as compared to direct search in one of the SE.

the point is .. How To get into Netscape directory ?? to be available to all those surfers using netscape browser searching via netscape search ??

the very same applies to other directories i have seen on the web - apparently they use DMOZ but their dmoz listings ar similar to netscape FAR less and hence their search results far less relevant

any precise experience / knowledge about above Netscape directory / netscape search ( enhanced by google means probably part of results by google part from their own db ?? )

does anyone among you have a successful entry in Netscape ( dmoz ) directory ??

Netscape likely pulls their data from DMOZ since that is one of the main purposes of DMOZ

DMOZ produces a weely RDF dump of their database. ~4000 sites use it as there own directory (eg Google, Netscape, AOL etc etc) - its up to them when they choose to update --- some have not done so in years; only a few appear to do it weekly; Google only did it twice in 2003.

Sites in DMOZ only appear in these other ~4000 directories when they choose to update (nothing to do with DMOZ).

There's nothing you can do. Just sit and wait for them to update their version of the DMOZ feed... Sorry, but that's how it goes.

I didn't know Netscape even had a directory. Who uses it for anything at all?

It will be always useful to inflate the share price of what ever company that owns netscape at the time. ;)
