Nominet and co.uk domains

I have a friend who has a co.uk domain registered at Nominet. The domain is detagged.

How would you set the nameservers, there doesn't seem to be any options on the Nominet site to do this.

Do you have to transfer the name to a registrar such as Godaddy to be able to set up the nameservers to point to the web host?

I have registered co.uk names before but it has been directly with Godaddy.

Any help appreciated.

 

I don't think GoDaddy currently have an option to accept incoming .CO.UK transfers (the UK domains I have regged with GoDaddy have "Global Registration Services Ltd / GRS" as the tag so they may not even be a tag holder), but yes its going to be much easier to change your nameservers if you retag the domain to a registrar that does support this. Unlike most other TLDs, changing registrar doesn't require the addition of an extra years registration (where registrars make their money) so its possible that the registrar you move the domain to may charge you.
