Shouldn't laugh, but just curious what would happen to a DP account when he / she dies? Why not have a separate field in the profile called 'Nominee email' to whom the account gets transferred after the demise!
Are you saying the representative of the deceased DP member whom you describe as "nominee" shall continue using his/her DP account? But why not sign up for their own DP account instead of using the dead person's account?
He could be thinking of income meant for the dead DP user which might just as well go to his "nominee" on a practical level. Dead DPs can't obviously use the money, can they?
DP is not a payment method and money is not sent to a DP account so how would this help? This suggestion is a solution to a problem that does not exist.
So then why institute a nominee if the idea was not for that person to carry on with some tasks for the benefit of a dead principal in his absense?
Well, that is the exact issue. There is no reason to do it. The question assumes someone is taking the place of the dead person to do their work and carry on their business here on DP. First and most importantly, DP does not allow that. Second, the law, at least in the United States, already has provisions where the representative of a deceased persons' Estate could access any accounts (including a forum to read PM or access Paypal or email accounts) as necessary to marshal their assets or wrap up any ongoing business. There is no need for people to designate someone to take over their DP account in the event of their death. On a practical level, if you want someone to take over your forum account or some email account or anything when you die then just leave the information for them to do so.
