Nokia chooses Windows Phone OS - value drops 8%

The new president of Nokia is a new hire from Microsoft. Guess what OS he chooses for new Nokia phones? Windows OS. Shareholders are unimpressed as the value of Nokia drops 8% on the news. Of all smart phones shipped last quarter, Windows was only 2% of them.

Nokia has been infected by the Microsoft cancer. Goodbye Nokia. You won't be around much longer.

An awful decision, they would have had a real good chance to regain their market power if they had gone down the Android route.

Exactly. Microsoft doesn't matter anymore but the president of Nokia is a former Microsoft exec who does what Microsoft tells him to do and think to the detriment to himself and his company.

Wow talk about making the wrong decision for Nokia. What did they think was going to happen hiring a former Microsoft worker?

This is interesting. Nokia CEO Elop owns no Nokia stock but owns plenty of Microsoft stock. Also, Nokia just named former Microsoft exec Chris Weber as president. So Microsoft sorta bought Nokia for $0.

And, so far today, Nokia has lost 25% of its value thanks to their decision to use Microsoft software.

I have been using Win on Samsung smartphone, and sometimes it makes me cry HOW!!!! How can such a big company (Microsoft) make something so terrible? It's like using a soft made by a schoolboy at his home computer. I have to extract the battery 2-3 times a day because the phone gets stuck and does not respond to any buttons and anything. It keeps telling me that Memory is critically low, but it does not say on which disk, what files should be removed, or even the size of files. Not even when you access it from a computer! OOOOO!
