Is it true noindex meta doesn't work for Yahoo? Last time it indexed my subdomains which have noindex tag, while Google didn't.
Yahoo doesn't obey nofollow and noindex. You better use robots.txt. Create robots.txt containing: User-Agent: Yahoo! Slurp Disallow: blockfolder/ Then upload robots.txt file to your root document.
Use every available method to block the pages you do not want indexed. Even Google has ignored such requests on one of my sites.
I got a good response from Yahoo. It Indexed my page And i got much better response then other like msn and google.
I guess it shall take long time for search engine to remove them. I know because those were brand new subdomain I created. Google never indexed them but Yahoo was so quick at that. Congratulation, gramyla. I also get good respond from yahoo for my Discount Shopping site.
The meta tags can be helpful but please note that search engines do not see themselves bound to follow all directions specified on them and that is why it's been sometimes a long delay before search engines finally do what webmasters like.
