Does it work placing <NOINDEX> code in HTML?, not in the meta tags. People use this prevent indexing part of the page by search engines.

What do you think? for Google, for yahoo and MSN.

Why wouldn't you want the search engines to index part of your page?

Why don't you just try it? Wait until your page is re-cached on google and then enter you website name and the text of the part which you don't want indexed. Google re-cache eevry day or two.

Well I don't want that and to avoid indexing part of the page, but I found a site use that, I thing it is useless and search engine don't care it, but still want to hear from other who know anything about it.

Hi, actually I have a similar problem.

The name of the street of a business is the same as a large and distant town and people looking for business in that town happen to hit the website.
Those visitors are not needed, that NOINDEX would do the trick easily to keep them out.
Of course I can put an image, JS and maybe something else, but that looks pretty easy!
