It seems as though MSN Search isn't recognizing the rel="nofollow" attribute. Has anyone else experienced this?

How did you figure out that MSN search isn't recognizing the rel="nofollow" attribute?

Officially, only Google follows this tag, up until now.

MSN Search is supposed to respect this tag, according to MSN Search's WebLog - Working Together Against Blog Spam (January 2005).

It can be deceiving if you do backlink checks in MSN (and Yahoo) as nofollow links will show up .. however the weight given to them is devalued .. according to the SEs themselves, anyway ..

    Agree with Jean-Luc

There are several articles out there stating that MSN and Yahoo would stick to Google's tag implementation since time ago.

Find them out doing a Google research ;)

This is what I'm seeing. I didn't consider the fact that they wouldn't have any weight when they showed up as backlinks. Makes sense if that is the case.

That is interesting - I wonder how much weight a "nofollow" link is given at Yahoo. I was surprised to find all the blog comments I made in the last week actually show up as links in Yahoo. For one thing - it really shows how well the Yahoo spiders are working, as I had links show up in about 72 hours.
