    Hey guys,
Please help me,I am lost. i have a website that has alot of links to other websites (its one of its purposes). I am loosing some page rank since i have 100's links coming out of my site ? Or it doesn't matter ?

Can someone explain what "NoFollow" really does ? As of my understanding, you can still go to the website if you click on the link, its just that google wont give that website credit for having a link on my site. AND google will look at me better since i dont have that many links coming out of my site.

Now, tell me if i am right ? Please take a look at my site and tell me if i need NoFollow tags.

If i do, Should i do a META for the whole page or REL for individual link.

    Thanks guys

If you don't want the PR juice to be passed on to the linking sites, you can add the no follow attribute to it. This is the reason why google assign no PR or PR 0 to most of the link pages.

Links using 'nofollow' tag, is just a normal link the only difference by using it is: It WONT Pass PR Juice ;)
so go ahead and use it Robert.

I've done some pagerank sculpting with nofollows and it has been successful. Any website I link to with a pagerank of 3 or more I do not use the nofollow. Obviously low quality sites will get a nofollow from me.
Remember, the internet as a whole is based on links. It's my belief that Google will look at a website as "quality" if you link to quality websites.

    Lakelandprinting,
Ok so this is my problem. All the websites that i link to are VERY high PR and good quality - subject is most popular european websites (so it makes sence thats its going to high "quality"). So what should i do than ?

Should i do no follow for all of them or should i leave it ? I just want a better PR for myself.

If you got 100's of outgoing links then I suggest you to use no-follow for the links. Otherwise, SE can consider your site as linkfarm if there is no real content except the links. Adding a no-follow won't hurt your site.

Adding a nofollow rel to your links is very important today if possible. So you should do it

But at some point that will crash Google.

As far as i understand, the logical use of nofoloow is not this one.
Nofollow is suppoused to use with links that you dont want maybe on your site, per example, in comments where people could add some link, etc.

if everybody uses nofollow, at some point, in a future, Google will start failing when searching for relevant results, since new site will never get PR.

I guess it could matter how many external links you have. I'm talking around 4 or 5 on your homepage. Google and other have always promoted linking to other sites, and the nofollow has messed everything up. I feel that if you nofollow every link eventually you will be seen as "greedy". Remember, google particularly has some smart folks working for them, and what they decide to do stems from them. Sometimes you have to think about it.
Let me give you an example:
    This site : www.floridacarsonline.com

If you look on the bottom right you will see that I link to some high quality websites. One of them is KBB. By looking at my stats, I get many visits with keyword phrases that have "kbb" or Kelly Blue Book" in them. Other then the links, I do not mention them. This happened after I removed the nofollow.
Remember, the Google algorithm is automatic, but it is initiated by humans. id you just read their webmaster guidelines they tell you what to do.
I know this, if the sites I linked to was low quality, I would have been penalized for link selling (it happened to one of my sites).

Another thing to consider is reducing the number of outgoing links from your sites
