    Hi,

On 1 Cool File, I have a paid Blog Directory category. So, I had enabled nofollow so not too loose my PR6 because it was a paid blog directory only.

Today, I decided to make it free in exchange of a short review on the blog and a sidebar link. That should help promote it more and I will use the feedback to make it better. If people don't want to do a review, they can still pay a small amount($2.50/year or $4/life) with no reciprocal link.

Now, my question is: I'm my safe to remove the nofollow or is it still considered a paid link? I expect most will want to post a short review.

Note: All advertisement will still be a nofollow.
I wrote a post about it and why I wanted bloggers to my site

    Thanks

i noticed you were reviewed by John Cow.

Lets be honest, asking for a review = trading backlinks. Thats just as bad as selling or buying links.

If you charge a review like yahoo/BOTW does google would have no problem, there would be no need for a free/reciprocal option and nofollow would not be mentioned.

No follow doesn't violate Google's ToS.

EDIT: Mikey basically said it all :)

    Yes I was

I was not looking at backlinks but for more feedback/traffic from those links. I will ask that they add a nofollow to both links.

Thanks for the clarification. It's something I will need to think about an maybe offer.

I should had mentioned that when they pay, they get some extras( like higher commissions in the affiliate program) that free ones don't get. It could be equivalent to a review because it's service.
