I have a bunch of nofollow links showing up in my webmaster tools as sites that link back to me. I left comments on some blogs with nofollow, and those links are displayed in my google webmaster tools list of "links to your site." Is anyone familiar with this? What does that imply about nofollow links and google?
Well it can be a little tricky, sometime they do give you credit for an link if you got a lot of comments on one site..that's what I have found.
Even if it's a nofollow it's still a link to your site so for me it makes complete sense that it's listed in webmaster tools. It doesn't mean Google will give it any link juice though.
Nofollow does not mean it's 0% worthless. It's actually better to have nofollow links as it makes your site seem natural in googles eyes.
I have nofollow links in my GWT for years already. Even more, I suspect that Nofollow links are passing link juice at almost the same level as dofollow links.
