for google: it's not counted as backlink which affect PR.
    For other SE, it's good.
For traffic, it has chance to be clicked

No follow links can be great for traffic, but I have never noticed any great ranking benefit.

Don`t you think that SEO company for website with usage only "dofollow" links will look like red light for Google?
Natural link building never goes without "nofollow" links. All types of links are necessary for SERP growth. Only if you create website to sell links - high PR "dofollow" links are necessary.
For SERP- no difference: any link is increasing link popularity...

You should have a good mix of dofollow and nofollow links, otherwise it'll look unnatural and suspicious. Furthermore, nofollow links will still help with Yahoo rankings.

Yea I too think Google treat some nofollow links as backlinks. I found many nofollow backlinks in webmastertools.

Personally, I will take any link I can get. Dofollow, nofollow. Linkjuice or not, the web is a big place and I will saturate as much as I can without spamming the world. :) The more links you have out there, the more other people will come across it (shopping, research, boredom, whatever) and click it, link to it, buy from it, who knows.
    Just my $.02

I think nofollow backlinks are sometimes even more valuable when they come from highly ranked websites than a shitty dofollow link from a noname site.

It's better to have both nofollow and dofollow links. Nofollow dont bring any juice but they are indeed visible to human eye:cool:

Most search engines ignore nofollow attribute. But it is not said that it will last forever.

google is starting to disregard the nofollow attribute due to web masters trying to "sculpt" or "channel" PR juice.

It's all good. It would be nice if all benefits of a backlink were included, but there are many factors that the SE's factor into their equations.

The most frustrating would be a relevant/related site with nofollow attribute on a keyword-rich backlink. Linkjuice may not pass, but does Google consider the keyword or that it is from a related site? I don't care about PR, especially if I get the keyword backlink/related site value.

Well, nofollow links definitely won't hurt your site, so I don't see any harm in using them to diversify your link profile.
