I made a posting on a blog with "Nofollow" links. The two tools I use to check this both confirm that the link is Nofollow. Yet Webmaster Tools now reports this as a "Link to your Site". The other thing is that this link appears many, many times. Once for each day Google visited the site. About 30 or 40 times. So I'm confused. Google says it strictly follows the Nofollow tag but this must not be so.
In webmaster tools it shows those links but for general search result in google these links will not be valued or taken into consideration as backlinks to your site...
I think nofollow means no juice for the linked page but not for noindex. There is another attribute called noindex for that purpose.
Google Webmaster account show all links whether it's nofollow or dofollow. Although nofollow links will not pass any PR value to your website.
As it won't pass PR nor Anchor text value it won't help any site in term of ranking... However, it might help in indexing and crawling tho
I thought I saw somewhere on matt cutts blog that nofollow does count as a vote for your site but the valuation that is given is almost nothing. Also too nofollow doesn't mean google doesn't follow the link, it still follows it, its just the valuation given is pretty much NIL
