    I'm curious for other peoples experiences with nofollow links..

    I'm currently doing a test, and yesterday Yahoo! picked up a page that I only linked to with a nofollow tag. Still nothing to be seen in MSN and Google though.

    Are there other people who did their own tests? And what did you discover?

    What I've found is that nofollow really doesn't work. They still follow the links. The only reliable way I've seen to get around it, is to use CGI redirects and Robots.txt. The search engines absolutely won't follow it that way, but it's a little more complicated.

    nofollow dilutes pr juice value but you get crawled if its from good site :) {comment spam still works}

    nofollow in my experience stops the "vote". it does not stop the crawling.

    yep it works .. but you cannot be sure now that how much pr juice you get now.

    test:
    put link in wikipedia of your site .. and after few days search
    link:yourdomain.com in yahoo! then you'll find wiki link there ;)

    The links still show in a backlink check but I don't think they pass any "juice anymore"

    It's misnamed...should be "NoPR" - they follow the link but don't count it as a vote. It will show up in backlink counts.

    The few wikipedia links that I was able to sneak in undetected, are all counted as backlinks by Google.. I can most definitely tell it has helped my SERP. I went from not ranking to #14 for a competitive keyword I started going after in Jan. Let wikipedia keep their "PR Juice". I don't want it :)

    There is a difference between a listed backlink and PR being passed (link juice). The update only occurred in late Jan. If that's your only good link, you may want to get some others, quick. :)
