nofollow > no pass link juice
    follow > pass link juice

google wants you to nofollow, but I also see do-follow sites, bla, bla, bla....
so if you are on no-follow sites, and you do not get link juice, then does
that mean you are not getting any type of link building credit? surely that
can not be the case, if it were, then why link build at all for nothing?

    Please explain...

No follow links still pass link juice. I can assure this since I've ranked web 2.0's that have 100% no follow backlinks.

One of the main points of building links is to get traffic to your site, to put links in places where your potential clients are. If you're "building links" in the right places then follow or no follow shouldn't be too big of a concern.

I agree, and this is how I look at it. The link juice is important. However, you also need people to find your site. You have to put your link somewhere in order to make this happen.

very well said...you can have all the juicy backlinks in the world, but traffic is what pays the bills....
You can either put the links in the hood, and get little to nothing, or consider paying a little
something, and at least get your return, if not more, unless you prefer dump-link-spammy-ville....

    My tip:
don't think about links as nofollow or dofollow - this is a metric that should be ignored.
