Nofollow Backlinks from edu ?

    I have seen a list of edu and gov blog site.But when I check them, all they have nofollow in comment backlinks.

    So how they can help in SEO ?

    as a search engine it is not useful because while robot comes to the link and read html contents witch had given rel="nofollow" it stop and leave you link
    but it useful when you are trying to get more visitors and proper visiter on your site...
    ex: you site is related to study and you are put your link on .edu blog and sites it useful

    whatever may be the domain name may be.. "nofollow" is nothing.
