Greetings Matt and all, I am a Registered Nurse, Scientist, Engineer (non-degreed), Artist and otherwise, nobody of consequence. When I grow up, I want to be a webmaster so felt this would be the best place to start. I run about 4 sites (one, my art site, I just do not like so it is just sitting idle until I can figure out a way to make it into something better than what I have). Besides, my art stopped selling over the last several months. Was doing great till November 2010. If you are wondering how nurse, scientist, engineer fit together, well, some of the more unusual things that doctors and nurses use in the way of instruments and equipment, I design and sometime even make. I was a tool and die maker before becoming a nurse. I also bring unusual science into the hospitals where I have worked. Things like getting the docs to prescribe gum chewing to prevent a post operation complication (from 2 Chinese medical studies). Or prescribing peanut butter and black strap molasses for patients with anemia (it works much better and is safer than a blood transfusion.) One of my specialties is Bloodless Medicine and Surgery. In over 600 patients refusing blood, have not lost one that I case managed, even with blood loss up to 83%. I'm also a Hospice Nurse. Love it but after working as the Assistant Director of Nursing on call for 72 hours straight a few times, it became necessary to make a change. A new field of nursing emerged a while back, called infomatics. When looking at it, I was introduced to the world of the web. It seemed like it would be more interesting to bring holistic nursing to the world through the web rather than dealing with the politics of the hospital. So, here I am. I am also into HHO and have created a third generation hydrogen fuel cell for my car and soon to heat our house. (the 6 cyc car gets 48 mpg when using the HHO made on demand by my fuel cell along with the gasoline.) Public speaking is also a love of mine, making it possible to speak on health care, among other things in several countries of this half of the world. I occasionally teach at local colleges too. I am from Colorado and currently living in Eastern Pennsylvania. Everyone will be wondering what my sites are about. As of this posting, April 30, 2011, I will just be browsing around and getting the feel of the forum. Once settled in, a sig will be put together and you will get to see them. Again, I am nobody of consequence. Oh yea, my BHAG's (Big Harry Audacious Goals) 1. Get at least one site up to 6-10K unique visits a day (I have not broke 2500 yet) 2. Create at least one thing that goes insanely viral with a goal of 500,000 hits a day. And watch out for the R-O-U-S'es.
