Al Gore is the strongest contender for this years Nobel peace prize according to a major Swedish betting site. Lets wait till Friday to see whether he actually makes it. If he does, his chances of getting nominated for the US presidency will improve.

Without diving into my feelings about global warming, or climate change, I'm going to wish him luck...

But, you mentioned him being nominated for president; I don't think he would want that... I'll bet he enjoys doing his environmental work a whole lot more then public service...

I would call him opportunist if he tries to use his Nobel Prize for his political benefit. I admire him for his Environmental Awareness work, though some of his works lack scientific objectivity and balanced opinion.

I think it was Britain courts that recently ruled his movie has 9 defiant lies/falsehoods in the movie. Before classes can watch that movie now, an advisory is shown at the beginning that warns of extremely biased and one sided information. The guys a fraud.

He's winning a peace prize for what? Making a movie about himself and arranging video and pictures in a manner that makes the audience get worked into a frenzy? lol

That was the stupidest movie I've ever seen...

A lot of it had "oh, feel sorry for me, I lost presidency, look what I could've done."

A covenient fraud. I bet he also enjoys his house amenities. Wasn't his electricity bill 10 times more than the average house bill?

I like the question posed to him by this dude in Australia: "Mr Gore, when asked about your astonishing use of power and air travel, you say you make "carbon offsets", so it's OK if you go on emitting gases that have us on a "ticking time bomb".

But aren't many of the offsets you claim to make just investments made through Generation Investment Management, a $1 billion outfit that makes money from global warming schemes and is partly owned and chaired by ... gosh, you?

Aren't you using your trip here to introduce Australian investors to GIM's latest plan to make money from global warming -- your Generation Global Sustainability Fund, which advertises its aim as "delivering superior long-term returns", thanks to a team that has "understanding (of) long-term sustainability themes"?

I also note that the price of this lunch is $1000 a head -- or $25,000 for a VIP package -- and that the main sponsor of your appearance is Lexus, which has a hybrid car to flog.

Mr Gore, how much money do you make from global warming? What exactly are the profits of doom?"

My speculations proved to be right! He indeed got it! He shared it with the more deserving but lesser known IPCC.
There's no one in this world who does everything for purely altruistic reasons. I see no harm in using climate change issue for small political gains as long as he remains committed to the wider cause of climate change and can generate the much needed awareness about the topic amongst ordinary people.

Nobel peace prize lost credibility long time ago.
The guy also invented the internet and, in his wild years, helped to destroy the economy and promote one-world government agenda. Quite a character.
