OK, so I moved my wordpress site to a new server, installed wordpress bluh bluh. I notice there is no where to type the excerpt. I tried multiple themes. I don't see a place to type an excerpt. How do I correct this? Thanks for the help!
In the latest version of Wordpress you need to use "Screen Options" at the top right to get some of the options to display. Select "Discussion"
I think he is talking about writing excerpts not about Discussions. Well thats quite amazing that you dont see the excerpt text box. please contact the official wordpress support.
Ooops.. my bad Try checking the "Custom" field. Some of the fields weren't displaying in one of my blogs and selecting "Custom" worked, I don't remember if the excerpts field was there though.
"Excerpt" is actually one of the checkboxes in screen options, I think it comes unchecked by default nowadays since not many people use it. I'm not sure what all the confusion is about re: which option you need, when it's actually called "Excerpt", but there you go
