No verification Dedicated Server Hosting

Hi I apply for a VPS on namecheap and after pending and doing nothing for 6 hours, they emailed me saying they require me to send my photo id card and require me to answer their call. It seems it is their normal procedure. I deposit by paypal on their site.

Is there any server hosting that doesn't require verification? How about godaddy.

If you are looking for an adequate hosting, then yes, it's a normal procedure. If your webhoster doesn’t require any verification it can result in bad neighbourhood and probably not very good quality of the hosting itself.

You may have triggered something with their fraud detection that made them ask for ID. We do it all the time but our fraud detection system generally stops your order BEFORE you pay. Pretty useful, stopped plenty of fraud orders.

Namecheap is an established business, you should have no problem providing your info to them.

I think it is good for us. It is used to monitor user accounts.
I think there should not be any problem in submitting your ID card.
Namecheap is good site, you will be safe.

this is pretty standard procedure, it not only protects the hosting company but also protects clients from having services ordered under their name by identity thieves

verification does not prevent fraud at all, but it help. If you are clean and clear, I don't see why no to to identify oneself because you will act as a good citizen ;)
